LONDON–(BUSINESS WIRE)May 12, 2001–Uniscape, the leader in global
content management software, today announced its commercial launch in
Europe with the appointment of Ben Salama, previously head of Talus
Solutions Europe, as vice president, EMEA.
With the launch, Uniscape has now set up operations in the United
Kingdom and Germany. A multinational support center in Dublin was
established in November 2000 led by former Vivendi Universal
globalization expert Fiona O”Carroll, vice president of operations.
Ralph Weiss has also joined as country manager, Central Europe from
SensAble.
“Uniscape leads the U.S. market in globalization solutions in terms of
product innovation, range of services and breadth of customer base,”
said Steve Adams, CEO of Uniscape. “We are delighted to have the
opportunity to extend that leadership with such a strong team to launch
our presence in Europe.”
“Uniscape”s entry into the European market is particularly well-timed,
considering Western Europe will lead the world in Internet users by
2004, ahead of the U.S., as well as account for 33 percent of a $3.1
billion worldwide ecommerce market,” said Alex Motsenigos, senior
analyst for eGlobalization and Localization Services at IDC. “With its
diversity of languages and cultures, Europe represents a dynamic
services opportunity for global content management solutions that reduce
costs, increase operational efficiencies and speed time-to-market.
Uniscape is one of the leaders in this area, offering a consolidated
solution for tackling global content management.”
Uniscape”s software empowers companies to globalize more efficiently by
automating the business processes involved in keeping customer, partner
and employee information updated on a worldwide basis. The globalization
challenge now cuts across all parts of the enterprise from Web sites
through CRM and supply chain to eLearning and other applications.
Uniscape”s global content management application delivers value by
cutting the cost of global operations and driving revenue growth through
faster Time-to-Global Markets.
“Companies now see that globalization applies equally to online and
offline enterprise content,” said Salama. “Uniscape”s globalization
products and methods present the opportunity to create one holistic
approach for global content management.”
The market for adapting enterprise content for global audiences is
estimated by independent research firm Allied Business Intelligence to
be worth over $22.7 billion worldwide by 2004. One critical area of
emphasis for companies is their Web sites, where globalization is having
a dramatic impact. Currently over 50 percent of Web users don”t speak
English as a first language. In the B2B market, where much of the demand
for globalization services is found, GartnerGroup estimates that 61
percent of a forecasted $7.3 trillion B2B market will be outside the
United States by 2003.
“Uniscape has fantastic potential in the European market,” said Salama.
“We have award-winning software that enables companies to develop, build
and manage their global content, backed up by a team of experienced
European globalization experts who can help customers create the
strategy and process that meet their specific needs.”
